RKism

Aunt Ann: "Should we make a plate for you to take home to your Daddy?"
(He and Sam didn't come to dinner because Sam wasn't feeling well.)
RK: "No. We have plates at home."

tonight...

I arrive home tonight at around 9:00 from church...yes, I know its Wednesday and I was at church--that makes me a good person, right? :) Anywho, I come home and a certain little girl (who was put to bed an hour ago) is calling from her room, "Daddy, is mommy here?" So, of course, I go in. She lays down on her pillow and says, "Hi Mommy. Lets talk about our days."
Yes, sweet girl, let's talk about our days...lets talk about how my days are long and sometimes don't go how I would plan but how I am ALWAYS thankful that her cute face and funny (and loud) songs are with me to remind what truly is important.
I hear rumors that one day she may not want to lay down in her bed and talk about our days so I am sure to soak all of it up now and grab the snuggles when I can.

So much pink...

We are up to our ears in pink here at the store. We've decided to do a big months-long fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness and have a fun Relay for Life team in May. We are starting next month and doing our 3rd annual raffle and our 1st annual "Paint 'til You Faint" and we'll continue to raise a lot of dough until the actual even in May....what does all this planning mean? It means I'm getting a little sick of Pink paint right now...But alas, it is a GREAT cause and means a lot to us and our customers---most of which have boobs and some of those boobs are fake because of this awful disease. So here is the beginning of it...more to come...what better way to spend the slow time in the store...
