Trunk or Treat

We had "Trunk or Treat" at church this weekend along with "Turtleween" at the Sea Turtle Center on Jekyll. Halloween party animals we are!
They had a costume contest at the Turtle Center...
Yes, that is a Fairy Ballerina Elephant you see...and no, she didn't win. Some silly little lion won. What were they thinking?

Pappy and Gammy---she got on the big horse all by herself! She loved it! Hopefully she'll remember that next time she is up in your neck of the woods.

Look! Its a bird...its a plane...

...its Super Sam!

The end of a fun day--standing outside the bounce house with most of her costume off, painted cheeks and blue lips from yummies...what could be better? Trick or treating is still to come!

October Fun

I know its been a long time since I've sent out pictures...here are fun things we've been up to.
We took a trip out to Poppell Farms in Odum, GA. Yes, its just about the only thing there. Its a family farm that has a great thing going...hayrides, petting zoo, pumpkins...

RK LOVED the cow train!

Sam isn't always so sure about the whole "get closer for a picture" thing!

great grandma, really

About two weeks ago all of my mom's brothers and sisters gathered to celebrate their mother's brithday. Anytime my kids get to spend time with their Great Grandparents---I love it. Family gatherings can sometimes be stressful; especially being the only one with small children. You want everyone to behave and be happy so that all can see what great parents we are. Well, luckily, I was given happy kids and everyone seems to enjoy them. The weekend was fun and I truly had a good time. The best gift was given to me at the end (even though it wasn't my birthday) and I will remember it forever. My grandma leaned over to me and said, "You're doing a great job with your kids." You're off the hook for my birthday next year Grandma.
You've already given me your gift...

7 years & no itch in sight...

Seven years ago today I walked/bawled my way down the aisle at Lovely Lane Chapel with my parents by my side towards a man and a life I never could have imagined. I mean, of course, I knew I loved Dave obviously, or I wouldn't have been in that big fluffy dress with all those people there...but looking back now, I couldn't have imagined how much my love for him has grown. Much to his dismay, we have lived in three homes (he's not moving again!!), in three cities, been through about 6 job/career changes, not to mention the birth of the two best kids ever, and through it all he has let me discover who I am and what makes me happy--all the while keeping us laughing and moving in the right direction.

He is my best friend, my BIGGEST supporter, the funniest and smartest person I have ever known. I knew he would be a good Daddy before we even talked about kids...but he has blown my expectations out of the water. Anytime I walk into a room, let it be 20 people or 1,000 people, I KNOW that I have the best life and I have everything I not only need but also want.

I married a man that treats me better than any other man could. But now I am also lucky enough to be married to a father who teaches his daughter how she deserves to be treated and shows his son how to cherish family. I'm such a lucky girl...and I get a lifetime of it all!

Coast Fest 2008

Coast Fest is put on by the DNR every year and is always fun. This year was great because RK got to see snakes, a huge bald eagle, go on boats, paint reefs, see sharks and crabs and all kinds of other fun things. We hung out with our friend Taya for a bit and took thier crabby picture. I don't think they quite get the whole "put your head through the hole and we'll take your picture because you'll look like a crab and its cute" thing.

Bremen Visitors

Has it been a week already? LAST FRIDAY we had some friends passing through (if you consider driving out of their way an hour south to come and visit passing through...) They are friends from the little town we used to live called Bremen, GA. We spent about 5 years in Bremen and to be totally honest, it wasn't the place for us, BUT we learned a lot and got some great friends out of the deal (Mark & Kristen, too). We met Eric and Jenny pre-children and it was fun to get together with our total of four, now. Hanging out was a bit different this time!
It was GREAT to see y'all...
