happy

My kids are home! Thanks Ed and Polly for a week of fun (theirs) and work (ours and much-needed). Dave said they slept all the way home...I can't wait to hear all about their adventures. Y'all are the best! Off to snuggle...

i miss my little ones...

This was our lunch time last week...the weather was so nice we sat outside. Sam loved it because his whole life is a parade. My meals this week have been a bit quieter, not so regular, and remarkably hotter. But I miss them.
They come home tomorrow! I can't wait to squeaze 'em!

over the river & through the woods

Saturday morning we got up. RK put on her lovely new shawl made by Mimi (thank you...its beautiful!) and we got ready for Spring Break.

Sam and RK were all packed and VERY EXCITED about going to spend the week at Pappy and Gammy's house. Since this is Sam's 1st time, RK was telling him how great it will be---the puppies, the horses, the TV in Pappy's truck and of course, there is chocolate milk!!

Sam said bye to the puppies and we were off...
Its been a little over 24 hours and it is very weird to not have them here. Of course, we didn't appreciate our time alone before we had kids (does anyone?) but we appreciate it now. I've been cleaning out rooms and we've worked on the yard and we've watched movies with bad lauguage and just gotten in the car and gone places...I know, crazy! I sure would give up all this freedom to tuck in my babies, though. They'll be back Saturday and I'm sure they don't miss us much--who would, when there is a TV in the truck and chocolate milk?

Sam worked hard today at the store---or rather, in front of it.

Man! He loves the lens cap for the camera.

i'm an official adult

I always thought that when I became a grown-up I would drink coffee...everyone around me did when I was little. I never liked it, though. I'd rather chocolate milk, really. I thought when I was in college I would learn to like it so I could stay up and study. But as anyone who knows me would tell you---sleep always wins with me; nothing is more important. OK, when I had kids...now I'll grow up and drink coffee like a big girl. Nope. Then it happened. Right before my 30th birthday I had a weekend with some old friends and had to drive 5 hours home with the kids in the car. Responsibility will help you get over your dislike so that you stay awake. I stopped at Dunkin Donuts and got a cup of coffee (munchkins, too, of course...its a rule or something) and haven't been the same since. Most days the coffee maker is going at the Davis household and my husband is lucky if he gets any. I painted my own mug this week. Its official...I'm one of "them".

Happy Birthday Erin!

My Erin turned 29 yesterday...she is a treasured friend, a loving aunt, the best Godmother to Reilly-Kate, and a funny girl. She keeps me grounded and I would do anything for her because she does the same for me. She is one of the truly kindest people I know and I am honored that she calls me friend.
Love you!

davis update

OK, I'm happy to report that I think all the germs have left the Davis household...since our trip we have all suffered from some sort of stomach bug--but we have survived! Today we have started to nurse Daddy back to health as he had minor surgery this morning on his ankle...apparently, I get on his nerves and he had to have that fixed. I'll let you know if it works!

I realized today that I never posted pics from RK's Snow Day at school. About two weeks ago they filled the side play area with snow...very fun! She has never seen snow and she loved it! At one point, the snow machines came on and starting shooting snow into the sky, all the kids ran away while RK ran towards it laughing the whole time.

Here are some more pics from our trip to see the mouse...

Sam was lucky and got to bring his mouse home with him.

Yes, RK got to meet some princesses but this was the BIG ONE!

Aunt Erin, we found your favorite family!

There is playground at Disney Hollywood Studios that is from
"Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" so everything is huge...

Sam liked the tunnels that killed my back!

RK spent most of her time sliding down this roll of film.
Does she even know what that is??

Handy Manny and Little Einsteins were very excited to meet
RK and sign her autograph book.

Of course, I have lots of other pics. Let me know if there are any special requests...I don't want to bore too many people. I could look at them all day.
