colors

Wow...am I tired! I've been working on our kitchen this week. Yes, this is the same kitchen that I have been working on, off and on, for the whole 2 1/2 years that we have lived here. FINALLY it looks different!

A couple weeks ago my parents were lovely enough to come over and get sweaty (after a yummy dinner, of course) and help me take down the beautiful 80's wallpaper. RK still misses the wallpaper by the way. She wanted to know if we were going to put it back up...

Last week (after saving our $$, thank you very much Dave Ramsey) our gaping hole in our ceiling was fixed---this is where we had removed the HUGE cabinet and sophet---and by "we" I mean my mom and husband. I'm the idea girl really.

Up until this week, that is...I got mine. Mom came over Monday and worked on the pretty new pendent lights while I slaved painting the ceiling in the dining room and kitchen. Let me just say that I WILL NOT be doing that again! There is a reason people get paid to do that!

Yesterday I painted all the walls and started the cabinets. Which means I had to pick colors...it took me a good 2 months to figure out what I wanted and I still wasn't super-sure at the store. But now its started so the decision is made.

We still have a long way to go and I know you are dying for pictures...sorry don't have any right now. Promise that they will come soon! Its killing you right? I know you won't be able to sleep because I haven't told you what colors I picked... :)

1st day of school

Reilly-Kate started school this past Thursday. Its her 1st time in all day school...mine too. She had a great time and mommy survived as well. She loves that she gets to eat lunch at school
and take a rest on her special mat...she came home saying that she gets to sit by her best friend. Thats great! What is your friend's name? I don't know. :)

the big 3-6

We celebrated a birthday this week! Dave turned 36...we had a great dinner with family and a yummy cake that some special people helped with (they also enjoyed blowing out the candles). The birthday boy had fun and got two things he loves for gifts...steak and a giftcard to help the kitchen look prettier! Thanks, Dave, for sharing 11 of your birthdays with me...heres to many more.

happy trails

Reilly-Kate always talks a big talk about wanting to ride the horses at Pappy's house...then when we get there, she really enjoys waving at them from a fair distance. This time she was all dressed for being a cowgirl...

Sam, on the other hand, loves everything to do with animals...even REALLY BIG ONES! This was actually his third ride of the week.

Once RK saw her little brother up there with Uncle Chad, she wanted a "chocolate" horse, too.

Pappy was thrilled!

They enjoyed a nice little walk down to the house together and then a special treat--a quick dip in the pool el natural! What a great time at Pappy and Gammy's house!
