I got to visit some old friends this week. There were 3 of us that went through college together...Stacie and I were roommates and met at the very beginning nearly TEN years ago. Luckily we found Erin the next year when she was freshman. We spent a lot of time together. Erin and I both majored in Religion and ALWAYS got called the others' name (still do!) and Stac and I were just always together...It seems like in the blink of an eye, many years and many miles have changed us all. Erin is married to a fantastic United Methodist Minister and Stac moved to London shortly after marrying her English husband.
I packed up the kids and the car and drove to Atl. to stay with Erin and together we drove to LaGrange to see Stacie. Somehow the 3 "bus girls" (we started a mobile after school program while in college) has become three mommies with 7 kids aged 4 and under. We were quite a sight hauling ourselves all over campus with three double strollers...who wanted to build that school on a hill anyway?? It was great to see them...so much is still the same and yet things have so quickly changed. Who would have thought that my two best friends would have such great kids? I never thought that I would be taking a picture of my almost 3 year old running around where I used to be stressed about papers due, looking forward to the party that weekend, or listening to the latest gossip.
LaGrange College is a special place. I found my soul mate there, my best friends, my direction, my life's meaning and so much more...my visit there is what made me want to start this blog. Seeing my friends and really noticing how quickly things change--hopefully stopping to write down my thoughts once in awhile will slow time down a bit. I want to cherish all the little things and little people in my life because sooner than I think we'll be driving to LaGrange to drop off Reilly-Kate or Sam for their first day of college...in a blink of an eye.
