balance

Here we are already entering February...which is my birthday month, by the way...I can't believe how fast 2011 is going. Last week my friend, and fellow PYOP studio owner, came up from Jacksonville and we planned our whole 2011 worth of marketing and projects for our stores. It felt nice...more organized and able to handle things.

I've found that if I just take the time to plan then I am WAY less likely to experience the crazy stress that cripples me. Life is crazy enough, if I can kind of have a map with some goals to follow..it makes it a bit easier.

So...here we go. I'm making a public statement of wanting to achieve more balance in my life. I've been inspired by my sweet friend Suzy-Q. She's a mom of FOUR and amazes me by her fab attitude, great appreciation for life, and she's darn entertaining, not to mention, cute. :)

She has set specific goals for each month instead of lofty ideas of balance. I mean, what does that even mean?!

So starting in February, I'm striving for more balance in:

Family-- I'm going to focus on my kids and spending "real" time with them. Soaking up their little-ness and putting aside at least 1 day a month for fun with no one but Team Davis.

Work-- I'm only going to work on the store while I'm at the store or after the kiddos are in bed.

Church-- Ask for help before flailing begins. Serve happily and thankfully but limit the actual time spent on projects. Delegate!!

Myself-- Its OK, and needed, to take the time needed to work out 3 times a week. Its also OK to take time to be with my friends...outside of my store...REAL girl time!

House-- do a little each day and ASK FOR HELP for what I need.

Marriage-- Saturday Night will be officially movie night. Movies CAN include grown-up situations and maybe even some bad language...I know, crazy. :) I'd also love it if we can set a goal to go out on a date once a month. Even if that means employing a babysitter.

Ok...now that I'm seeing it as a list, I'm becoming a bit overwhelmed. Better get started...Its Monday...time to work on the house. I'll let you know how it goes!
