So the time has finally come! We've been saving our pennies--thanks to my fabulously budget-minded Dave Ramsey wanna-be husband---and I've been trying to choose floors for months. Right now I am sitting in my living room with concrete floors and 58 boxes of new floors all around me...still in boxes. We're working on it...

Last night, Nana had a slumber party with the kiddos and Dave and I (mostly Dave) tore up and took out the old wood floors in preperation for our "floor guy" coming to install the new floors on Tuesday. I have spent the last week packing up everything like we are moving...good times. But it will SO be worth it!!!

Sam has especially enjoyed the fact that today when he wanted to pull out the play doh, there was no restriction on where he could play with it...and I didn't freak out when he didn't get every piece picked up. Who cares?! We're living on cement for a few days---come on over and spill something!!
P.S. I'm also very proud that I actually remembered to take "before" pictures so the big reveal will have that great dramatic effect... we'll see what the week brings...

I'm especially proud of your "before" pics! :)
Oh. And I thought of something you could do to mark up the floor before y'all cover it: grab some chalk & red kool-aid (or grape juice, or ketchup) and have Dave lay down in a strange "just killed" manner on the cement. Then chalk him out and dabble some red liquid around... And then hide a video camera for when the floor guys come tomorrow!!!
