I am pleased to announce that this installment of the Team Davis Blog will be a recap of the stupendous, extraordinary, and fun-filled weekend the kids and I, in my alter ego as Super-Dad, had while Meg was away. As a side note this fun we had is not a reflection of our attempt to have as much fun as humanly possible with Meg out of the country, it is more of a testament to push our fun sponges to the limit and then some...
We started the weekend after school on Friday and without anything to stop us we head to the beach and start building sand castles

and spend some time in the ocean...

It was a very windy day, but I had really happy kids, and the wind kept the bugs away and the water was warmer then I expected and we stayed a couple of hours. Now, many men would have patted himself on the back and say he did good with the munchkins, but if you thought that about me then, you don't know me at all! I had Saturday to cover as well and what does that mean?
It means MORE BEACH TIME!!!
After a brief breakfast and some cartoons we are back on Jekyll and we played most of the morning away, except this time one was a bit more tuckered out...

and one was just getting into it...

when we had to call it quits for lunch and quick rest before the next adventure. One filled with wild adventures and new experiences that have never been appreciated by all in this party.
We went to a parking lot carnival (Meg please hold the gasps all the rides held together). The kids had several firsts please see below:
They rode the air planes by themselves,

Sam wanted to wear his hat sideways, not a first, he just thought it was the funniest thing ever,

we rode the big slide,

then the spinning dragon ride,

and RK rode the "Crazy Bus" all by herself several times. I did have video of them riding their own roller coasters again by themselves, but alas it did not load*

and the bus went super high and she loved it!

Now if that was not enough we stayed out and up until about ten that night and still had to do fun things on Sunday. The kids slept and slept and slept and I really thought we were going to miss church, but luckily they woke up in time and with a little coaxing, thank you M&M's, they dressed and prepared for church

and after church I thought it was all over the kids had peaked and it was going to be a lazy day, but the kids were real troopers and mustered themselves for lunch and... BOWLING!!!!!

Now this went on until about four this afternoon and it was time to go home as we bowled both of our games. So now we come home to finish up our weekend of fun. Super-Sam was spent and slept on the coach and RK hit the zone while we watched Toy Story.
After a little while my little girl looks at me and said "we did not eat dinner" and after an explanation that we did eat dinner we had to have another snack and a little Snow White before bed.
Now the kids are all off to bed and I am having to finish cleaning up the house after all my beautiful world traveling wife will be home tomorrow!
P.S. If you enjoyed my post please look head on over to my blog and I will be posting my musings about my now black toenails from my ultra-marathon. I know, I know - No one gets it but us runners, but that is OK. http://www.davezb1.blogspot.com/
* I attempted several times to upload video, but unfortunately that did not work out, maybe next time.
