So last Saturday we graduated! I was strangely proud...when the classes started 3 weeks earlier, I was excited to get the ball rolling. I quickly realized that these classes were going to be hard. Hard to sit in the cold room...hard to be away from my kids for 3 full Saturdays and hard to hear what they had to tell us...
I've come to realize that everyone should take these classes. They were called "Impact" and they covered everything from what these kids have been through, what they will continue to go through for their whole lives and how that will impact our family.
Even though it was hard to hear a lot of the content...it became more and more clear to me that this is what we are called to do. We are called to fill out a mountain of paperwork and we are called to let DFCS be as "nosy" as they want to be and we are called to prepare ourselves as parents and our kids for the impact that our family will feel. We are called to work harder for this child that is coming our way because they deserve it. All kids deserve to impact a family...
