doors

We've lived in our house for going on 4 years...I've never been fond of the front door. It was just plain old wood. Now I know there are huge fans of plain natural wood out there. I'm just really not. Its gotta be just the right color...otherwise I want to paint it! Our house has vinyl siding in the color of blah...OK, its grey but there is nothing else colorful happening out there so its pretty blah. Here, take a look...

See what I mean? Blah...I've been trying to decide what to paint my front door for quite awhile. Of course, red came to mind first. Lots of people have red doors and they are nice but...I wanted something a little different. I realized that I couldn't change the vinyl siding (and keep my husband) so I had to work with the grey. I also realized that I've been enjoying the color combo of yellow and grey I've been seeing all over my DIY shows and www.pinterest.com ...what is "Pinterest" you ask?? Well that is for a whole other blog---its my crack addiction and inspiration for so much lately...if you're interested let me know and I'll get you an invite. and, yes, I had to show off my flowers in this shot. They have been thriving since the spring and believe me when I tell you that I have literally killed EVERYTHING I have ever tried to grow...luckily the kids are tougher than plants...
